Exploring high sea cliffs towering over the black sand beaches, roaming around endless fields of wild lupine, making out in a filed of buttercups only to find yourself all of a sudden…
Last fall we had one of these shoots at the edge of the highlands in south Iceland. We hit two locations both of which we had been to before but never really explored. A small rift valley called Gjáin that was filled with the most amazing fall colors from all the plants growing along the small streams…
We learned a long time ago that there is no use in getting annoyed by the weather you just have to embrace what ever the weather gods throw your way and work with it. And that brings us back to Belinda and Terry. They embraced all the weather they got on their wedding day and they got it all. From gale force winds and rain up in the mountains to pockets of calm down by the ocean.
We headed out just before sunset to get the best light and made a quick stop by a lake with crazy rock formations that must have been trolls in their past life, then we drove past lava fields and sulphur smelling hot springs and finally found our selves driving along a sketchy road we had never been down before.
